A Hard Days Night, by the Beatles, was inspired by a phrase uttered by Ringo Starr, the bands drummer. He mixed expressions and ended up saying a hard day’s night, referring to a hard day of work followed by a night of recording. John Lennon, impressed by the phrase, decided to use it as a theme for a song. The track simultaneously topped the singles and albums charts in the UK and the US.
