Free Fallin is one of Tom Pettys most famous songs, released in 1989 on the album Full Moon Fever. Petty co-wrote the song with Jeff Lynne during an impromptu recording session. Petty described the song as a reflection on his youth in Gainesville, Florida, mentioning various personal experiences and sentiments from that time.
