Guitar chords Proud Mary

Proud Mary is a song written by John Fogerty and first recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1969. The song talks about a steamboat traveling down the Mississippi River, and Fogerty was inspired by a variety of musical styles, including rock and roll and gospel music, in composing the song. Proud Mary also became famous in Tina Turners cover version, released in 1971, which gave it a more energetic and vibrant interpretation.
