A música My Hero foi escrita por Dave Grohl em homenagem aos seus heróis musicais e pessoas comuns que ele admirava. Foi inspirada, em parte, pela admiração de Grohl por seu amigo e ex-companheiro de banda Kurt Cobain, mas também trata de heróis cotidianos.
