A música Where the Streets Have No Name foi inspirada pelas histórias que Bono ouviu sobre Belfast, Irlanda do Norte, onde as pessoas podiam dizer a religião e o status socioeconômico de alguém baseado na rua em que viviam. A ideia de um lugar sem essas divisões fascinou Bono.
