CNCO is Latin music’s newest phenomenon. They won over millions of viewers, along with the renowned judges of La Banda: Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz. Winning a spot on this band comes with the reward of a recording contract with Sony Music Latin, and a management deal with an all-pro team led by Ricky Martin. Comprising five young men, this group is really to show its talent to the world and launch a long-lasting career. Just one day after being announced as the winners on La Banda, CNCO accomplished the milestone of its first public performance, singing at New York City’s Times Square as part of Univisión’s ¡Feliz 2016! program to ring in the new year. They’re now immersed in the recording studio where they’re preparing their first album, which is being produced by the urban-music legend Wisin. The group’s first single, “Tan Fácil” (So Easy), debuted in late January. Just hours after its release, it reached #1 on the iTunes Latin singles chart. On January 30, CNCO gave its first full concert at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. Even bigger stages awaited the group in February and March, as CNCO joined the legendary Ricky Martin’s One World Tour, opening for him on his Puerto Rico, Argentina and Chile performances. Afterwards, the group traveled to Ecuador for a promotional tour that allowed the members to meet their quickly growing legions of fans, known as CNCOwners, in the Andean nation. The group also visited major media outlets, giving interviews with the national and international press. About the members of CNCO: Christopher: This 20-year-old Ecuadorean moved to New Jersey in search of a better life for his family. He shined shoes for a time, and hopes his mother will be able to join him soon. Erick Brian: He arrived in the U.S. with his mother and sister from Cuba three years ago. He loves to play football, dance, and participate in musical activities at his school in Tampa. He is 15 years old. Joel: The biggest inspiration for this 16-year-old Californian of Mexican ancestry has been his late grandfather, who gave him the strength to continue singing and to study theater. Zabdiel: This 18-year-old Puerto Rican was part of a hip-hop and salsa group in his church. He has been a musician, singer, and ballet dancer. Richard: He grew up in the entertainment world, with a musician and cameraman father, and a dancer for a mother. This 19-year-old Dominican likes to dance and write songs, and to share his love of music with his twin brother.
