Mr. Brightside is the debut single by American rock band The Killers. It was one of the first songs composed by vocalist Brandon Flowers and guitarist Dave Keuning. The song discusses themes of jealousy and infidelity, inspired by a personal experience of Flowers. Although it initially did not achieve significant commercial success, it has become one of the bands biggest hits, featuring in many lists of the best songs of the 2000s.
Coming out of my cage And I've been doing just fine
It started out with a kiss How did it end up like this?
Now I'm falling asleep And she's calling a cab
Now they're going to bed And my stomach is sick
Сhest now He takes off her dress now Let me go I just can't look It's killing me And taking control
Jealousy Turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes ‘Cause I'm Mr. Brightside
