Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is about feeling trapped in a routine and wanting to escape, even if it means falling into the unknown. Thom Yorke, the bands singer, was inspired by a dream where he was at the bottom of the ocean surrounded by strange, colorful life forms. The lyrics reflect a quest for freedom and an acceptance of the unknown.
