Bossa nova is the term by which a movement of transformation and whitening of samba became known, radiating from the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro at the end of the 1950s and which, therefore, started to name the style of interpretation and rhythmic accompaniment emerged from it, which became known as “different beat”.
