Cúmbia is the typical national music of Colombia. At first, it appeared in the northern region of the country, in the countryside and only later reached the big cities. The rhythm has spread to all or almost all Castilian-speaking countries in Latin America and is currently considered one of the most popular musical rhythms in Argentina and Mexico.
